The Paralegal Studies Program at Southern Utah University is designed to provide a two-year curriculum in support of students who wish to pursue a career as a paralegal or legal assistant within a legal environment such as a law firm or the legal office of a governmental entity. In addition, the skills and knowledge obtained through the program will be useful in other fields as business, real estate, and public administration. Although classes within the program are designed to prepare students for the paralegal profession, they also offer insight into, and practical knowledge of, legal topics that may be of assistance to students who wish to attend law school. Thus, pre-law students may take Paralegal Studies courses as electives or part of a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.
