What’s New?


This page provides a sampling of information about new programs, significant changes in requirements, and other details that are unique to the 2013-14 Catalog. Please note, this is not a complete listing of changes that have occurred since the publication of the 2012-2013 Catalog. Consult your Advisor for changes in requirements or programs that may impact you.

Content Revisions

Background information about the SUU Essential Learning Outcomes (ELO) has been added to the Overview of Southern Utah University section of the 2013-14 e-catalog. You can view it at: SUU’s Essential Learning Outcomes

The General Education section has been revised. It now includes the Essential Learning Outcomes (ELO) and a new table has been added to give the reader an overview of the course areas offered through SUU’s General Education Program. Please see: Essential Learning Outcomes and Core & Knowledge Area Course Offerings

The experiential education section has been expanded and updated to more fully describe SUU’s unique EDGE program (Education Designed to Give Experience). Please visit: EDGE Program

Changes to Programs

Changes to Requirements

Beginning with the 2013-14 academic year, students must complete the English, Quantitative Literacy, Information Literacy, and Computer Literacy course work before they have earned 60 credit hours at SUU. While not required, students are urged to also complete the American Institution requirement within their first 60 credits.(Please see Core Requirements )
