Women and Gender Studies (Minor)


Program Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the interdisciplinary nature of feminist and gender scholarship.
  • Learn major feminist theories, debates, and methodologies.
  • Learn to analyze issues pertaining to women and gender issues from multi-cultural, intersectional, and transnational contexts.
  • Critically analyze how gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity/cultural background, social class, nationality, and citizenship intersect and create different experiences for different groups of people around the world.
  • Recognize the roles and ramifications of human/women agency and activism locally and globally.
  • Learn to reflect and interpret everyday lived experiences from feminist and gender perspectives.

Program Information

  • All courses must be passed with a “C-” (1.7) or better to be counted in the minor.
  • Other courses may be substituted; student should meet with the appropriate faculty, chairs, and/or deans to seek approval for a substitute course.
