Special Education Mild/Moderate Dual Licensure Curriculum Summary
Core Requirements (credits vary)
Complete either the Elementary Education major component (66 credits) or the Secondary Education major and licensure component requirements (credits vary according to discipline) SPED Courses (21 Credits)
Teacher Candidates must be admitted to the Initial Teacher Education Program to take the following courses (See Admission Procedures ) Note
Please note, SPED courses must be taken in succession (for example, SPED 4100, SPED 4110, etc.). Fall courses should be taken before Spring courses. Student Teaching (12 Credits)
Note
Students are strongly encouraged to consult their advisor before making course work selections. Because of the intensive nature of the Dual-Licensure, additional time may be needed to complete all requirements. Total Credits, B.S. degree (Elementary Education Major component): 124
Total Credits, B.S. degree (Secondary Education Licensure component): Varies
Secondary Education w/Special Education B.A./B.S.
Teacher Candidates must be admitted to the Professional Teacher Education Program to take the following Special Education courses (See Admission Procedures ) Teacher candidates must begin the Special Education program in the fall semester and finish the program in the Spring Semester. Complete Secondary Education major, licensure component and Special Education (credits vary according to discipline) |
