This page provides a sampling of information about new programs, significant changes in requirements, and other details that are unique to the 2016-17 Catalog. Please note, this is not a complete listing of changes that have occurred since the publication of the 2015-2016 Catalog. Consult your advisor for changes in requirements or programs that may impact you.
Changes to Degree Requirements
The university-wide experiential education requirements (EDGE ) have changed along with the course prefix from “UNIV” to “EDGE”. See Experiential Education .
Two General Education requirements (LM 1010 and CSIS 1000) in the Core have been moved to a new Knowledge Area called “Integrated Learning”. See General Education .
Changes to Academic Programs, Schools, Colleges, Centers, and Institutes
The School of Continuing and Professional Studies has changed its name to the School of Graduate and Continuing Studies.
The Department of Integrated Engineering and the Department of Engineering Technology and Construction Management have been combined to form the new Department of Engineering and Technology.
The Confucius Institute was created.
The American Language and Culture Center was created (which now includes the existing English as a Second Language program).
New Academic Programs/Certificates
A new General Education Certificate of Completion has been added.
A new Technical Writing Certificate of Completion has been added.
A new BA/BS degree in Anthropology has been added.
The Bachelor of Science in Integrated Engineering has changed its name to Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
A new Masters of Science in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance has been added.
