All Spanish majors and minors have the following core courses which must be satisfied: SPAN 1010 , SPAN 1020 ,

Transfer Credits

The Spanish program will accept no more than six upper division Spanish credits taken at another institution or on study abroad toward the major. Transfer credits not covered by articulation must be approved by the Department Chair.

Teacher Candidates are also required to take SPAN 4900 - Methods of Teaching Foreign Language .

Students may only count one course in which English is the language of instruction toward the Spanish minor (e.g. LANG 3030 , SPAN 3250 , SPAN 4900 )

Any internship (SPAN 4893 ), study abroad (SPAN 4920 ), and student teaching (SPAN 4980 )credit counts as an elective. Other than transfer credit, internship and study abroad credits should not exceed 3 credits per denomination. SPAN 4980 should not exceed 2 credits. Total credits toward a Spanish Minor or with a SPAN 4893 , SPAN 4920 , and SPAN 4980 denomination must not exceed a maximum of 3 credits.
