Physical Education - Teaching/Coaching, B.S.


Teaching/Coaching

The Physical Education and Human Performance degree in Teaching/Coaching is a certifiable major and minor approved for secondary teaching licensure at SUU. This degree is intended to provide students who wish to pursue teaching careers with the necessary knowledge, experience and training to become effective and competent teachers and coaches.

Secondary Teacher License Courses (36 credits)


Please see the degree requirements for Secondary Education Licensure . Some classes required for the licensure cannot be taken until the teacher candidate has been admitted to the Teacher Education Department. Please consult your advisor or the Teacher Education Department for further instruction.

Open Elective Courses (2 credits)


  • An additional 2 credit free electives may be needed to satisfy the 120 credit hour requirement for graduation.

Complete Coaching Track:


Elective Courses (25-38 credits, 2-4 upper division)


  • An additional 25-38 credits are needed to needed to satisfy the 120 credit hour requirement for graduation. Two to four of the elective hours must be upper division to satisfy the 40 upper division credits hours graduation requirement.
