Pre-Engineering, A.P.E.

Mission

The Associate of Pre-Engineering (APE) program is designed for students who plan to complete the first two years of their engineering education at Southern Utah University and then transfer to another institution to complete the requirements of the curriculum in the specialized discipline of their choice or to enter the workforce directly. Students in the APE program may also transfer to the SUU Integrated Engineering program, with the approval of the engineering faculty.

Disciplines and Curricula

The student must complete a total of at least 60 credit hours selecting classes as indicated below. If continuing at a different school, it is highly recommended that students carefully study the course requirements of the institution where they intend to finish their degree to insure maximum applicability of coursework. SUU’s Quantitative Literacy and Science requirements of General Education are automatically satisfied by meeting APE degree requirements.

Students are strongly encouraged to work closely with a faculty adviser and an academic adviser in their major emphasis area, both at initial registration and throughout their program experience.
