Overview of Program

The Honors Program gives eligible students the opportunity to graduate with University Honors at the completion of their undergraduate degree at SUU. University Honors is not a major or a minor but an academic program that includes classes that students take when completing requirements for General Education , for a major, for a minor, or as electives.

The Honors Program is open to freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Students must complete an application and demonstrate high academic ability to be considered for acceptance to the Honors Program. Registration for honors (HONR) courses require either admittance to the Honors Program or permission of the Honors Director. The only exception is HONR 4010 - Honors Seminar , which is open to all students on campus when it is offered. Students may take more than one honors course each semester.

Contact the Honors Office (LIB 307, 435-865-8292, honors@suu.edu) if you have questions or for a list of honors courses for the upcoming semester.
