Program Summary

This certificate in software development is designed to teach the technical skill set and provide students with a solid foundation of knowledge to confidently move forward in the world of software development.
The field of artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the most rapidly expanding fields in technology today. With the advancement of machine learning algorithms, natural language processing, and other AI-related technologies, AI is becoming an integral part of how businesses operate, how people interact with devices, and how we can make sense of the world. As such, studying AI is essential for anyone interested in leveraging the power of technology to solve real-world problems. Another key reason to study artificial intelligence is to learn how algorithms can be used to crunch large volumes of data quickly and accurately. By using machine learning algorithms and neural networks, AI systems are able to identify patterns and correlations in data that can help companies make better decisions or uncover valuable insights about customers, products, and markets.
Program Information
- All courses must be passed with a “C-” (1.7) or better to be counted in the certificate.
- Credits older than 10 years must be approved by the CSCY Department Chair before being allowed to count towards the major due to the rapid change in the industry.
Certificate Completion
This certificate program must be completed in conjunction with a degree program. The certificate will be awarded at the same time as the degree program and cannot be earned independently of a degree.
