Program Summary
The French minor is for students who want to learn French or perfect their French while studying another discipline. A French minor combines well with degrees from all SUU Colleges/Schools and makes any diploma more attractive, as it shows the student is disciplined and broadly educated. The program focuses on oral and written proficiency through a well-balanced curriculum of literature, culture and language courses. Students learn about the French-speaking world beyond France’s borders through text, music, and film; in classes on translation, phonetics, grammar, history of the language, and others, students learn to express themselves in different contexts and at different levels of formality.
