Shakespeare Studies (Minor)

Return to: Programs by College/School
Program Summary
The minor in Shakespeare Studies allows additional study within the humanities and arts that surround the works of William Shakespeare. Given the unique connection between the university and the Utah Shakespeare Festival the minor works to capitalize on this connection bolstering an inventive way of approaching the study of this work. Students investigate adjacent fields of study of History, English, and Theatre which comprise the influence and backdrop of these plays. The minor strives for a common focus within the core courses and encourages engagement through multiple forms of participation in live performance. It also allows more focused study based on the student’s goals within the electives. Students interested in the time and plays of Shakespeare regardless of major are encouraged to investigate the minor.
