Program Summary
The Museum Studies minor introduces undergraduates to museums and collections’ history, theory, and practice. Courses encourage interdisciplinary thinking about the theoretical, historical, and contemporary roles of museums and curatorial institutions in society. In addition, students learn about the preservation, collection, interpretation, and exhibition of art, anthropological, historical, and scientific materials for the public audience through the minor. Students majoring in Art, Anthropology, History, or any other major in the Humanities, Sciences, Education, or Business can enhance their area of specialization with the Museum Studies minor.
Program Information
- All courses must be passed with a “C” (2.0) or better to be counted in the minor.
