Program Summary
A minor in photography will provide experiences directed towards developing photographic skills:
- Camera operations
- Traditional and digital technology practices
- Composition strategies
- Creative, artistic, and aesthetic sensibilities
This minor goes beyond the simple role of photography as documentation. It aims to give students the conceptual tools to make (and look at) photographs critically and to be able to analyze their effectiveness as a means of visual communication and expression. The photography minor will benefit any student with a sustained interest in photography by providing a practical mix of artistic and professional experiences. It is advantageous to those students majoring in Marketing, Communication, English, Graphic Design, and the Sciences.
Program Information
- All courses must be passed with a “C” (2.0) or better to be counted in the minor.
