Information Technology - Computer and Information Systems Security Emphasis (A.A.S.)

Program Summary

This associate degree is recommended for students with an interest in information systems security. This is an SUU 2-year Associate of Applied Science Degree.

Program Information

• All courses must be passed with a “C” (2.0) or better to be counted in the major.
• Credits older than 10 years must be approved by the CSIS Department Chair before being allowed to count towards the major due to the rapid change in the industry.

Program Prerequisites

The Department of Computer Science and Information Systems strongly recommends that students complete the following courses as part of their General Education  requirements, as they are prerequisites for required major courses. Students who do not complete these courses as part of General Education can potentially add additional credits and time to their degree.

• CSIS 1010 - E-Commerce in a Global Society  (can be used to fulfill General Education Social and Behavioral Science Knowledge Area)
• MATH 1040 - Statistics * & MATH 1050 - College Algebra * (either can be used to fulfill General Education Quantitative Literacy)
