Special Education Mild/Moderate Dual Licensure Concentration: K-12


Program Information

  • Students are strongly encouraged to consult their Student Success Advisor before making coursework selections.
  • Because of the intensive nature of the Dual-Licensure, additional time may be needed to complete all requirements.

Core Requirements (Credits Vary)


Complete either the Elementary Education (B.A., B.S.)  major component (84-94 credits) or the Secondary Education  major and licensure component requirements (credits vary according to discipline).

Special Education Courses (15 Credits)


Teacher Candidates must be admitted to the Initial Teacher Education Program to take the following courses. (See Department of Teacher Education .) Teacher candidates can begin the Special Education program in the Fall or Spring semester.

Complete Elementary Education major, licensure component, and Special Education courses.
