Program Information

  • All courses must be passed with a “C-” (1.7) or better to be counted in the major.
  • No more than 12 lower-division credits (1000- and 2000-level courses) may be counted toward the total major credits.
  • Students may count up to three (3) credits of internship credit (PSY 4890 ) toward the major requirements.
  • Exceptions to the requirements below require departmental approval. Students are encouraged to work closely with their Student Success Advisor to develop their program of study.

Program Prerequisites

The Department of Psychology strongly recommends that students complete the following courses as part of their General Education  requirements, as they are prerequisites for required major courses. Students who do not complete these courses as part of General Education can potentially add additional credits and time to their degree.

* Note: Most or all of the B.S. requirements may be met by fulfilling the General Education  Core and Knowledge Areas. Transfer students not majoring in a math or science field may need additional math/science courses to reach the minimum 12 credits. Consult your Student Success Advisor for details.

** Note: One semester of a foreign language may also fulfill the General Education  Humanities requirement.
