PILT 1740 - Aviation Safety and Security

2 credits

This course provides a broad but aptly targeted survey of protocols and systems intended to mitigate threats to the safety and security of aviation operations. The validity and effectiveness of aviation safety programs and safety management systems are examined. The current status and historical progression of aviation security both within the United States and worldwide are explored. Best practices for aviation safety and security are explored. The intent of this course is to provide the students with practical knowledge to analyze the safety and security of an aviation operation and provide the expertise to make appropriate recommendations to enhance the safety and security of that operation.
