A comprehensive overview of the materials used in civil engineering applications, focusing on their properties, behavior, and performance under various conditions. Topics include the fundamental nature of materials, including electron configuration, bonding, and material classification. The course also covers metallic materials, mechanics of materials, steel, aggregates, Portland cement concrete (PCC) mix design, timber, aluminum, asphalt concrete, and non-destructive evaluation (NDE) techniques.
