ELPP 6550 - Supervision and Evaluation of Instruction

Built upon the principles of the national ISLLC standards (3), this course focuses on the use of the development of the professional skills of educators to involve such activities as coaching, creating supportive conditions, and fostering a learning environment, as well as standards and methods of instructional evaluation. Learners will develop an understanding of various techniques of supervision and personnel evaluation and will learn a variety of supervisory models (including clinical, developmental, cognitive, and peer coaching) and methods and processes for instructional evaluation. A project-/problem-based approach provides hands-on activities to develop staff members’ professional skills and practices in order to drive student learning and achievement.
