EDUC 5704 - Cause and Effect in Science

This is the fourth course in the Elementary Science Endorsement sequence. During this course, students will develop a conceptual understanding of cause and effect in science. Students will be asking questions that support planning and carrying out investigations with the intent to identify causal relationships and mechanisms in order to explain changes and predict phenomena. Additionally, students will engage in science investigations, critique lessons that include investigations, and design and teach a lesson to enact phenomenon-based, three-dimensional science instruction that supports the development of students’ conceptual understanding and scientific literacy related to cause and effect.
