Supply chain management, which is also referred to as logistics network management, is an area of study that deals with the flow of goods and information throughout the value chain of business. This includes the management of suppliers, manufacturing centers, raw materials, work-in-process inventory, finished products, warehouses, distribution centers, and retail outlets. The objective is for an organization to be efficient and cost-effective in all of its activities across the entire value chain.
