BIOL 2060 - Introductory Microbiology 3 Credit(s)
Designed for non-majors and allied health students. This course provides an application-based approach to human-microbe interactions with an emphasis on disease control, pathogenicity, epidemiology, and the immune response. Topics include prokaryotic cell biology, viral replication, parasitology, and the role of microorganisms in the world around us. A minimum grade of “C” (2.0 or above) must be earned in this course before it can be counted in a biological science major or minor or as a prerequisite for any other biology course.
