Program Learning Outcomes: General Technology


Business Specialty

  • Students receive an understanding of the basic foundations of business.

Construction Technology Specialty

  • An ability to apply knowledge, techniques, skills, and modern tools of mathematics, science, engineering, and technology to solve broadly-defined engineering problems appropriate to the discipline.
  • An ability to design systems, components, or processes meeting specified needs for broadly-defined engineering problems appropriate to the discipline.
  • An ability to apply written, oral, and graphical communication in broadly-defined technical and non-technical environments; and an ability to identify and use appropriate technical literature.
  • An ability to conduct standard tests, measurements, and experiments and to analyze and interpret the results to improve processes.
  • An ability to function effectively as a member or leader on a technical team.

Culinary Arts Management Specialty

  • Students receive a basic understanding of hospitality management and the culinary arts.

Integrated Health Sciences Specialty

  • Students will demonstrate understanding and ability to apply concepts of scientific methodology and basic understanding of peer-reviewed literature.
  • Students will demonstrate effective oral and written communication appropriate to the discipline.
  • Students will demonstrate an understanding of health science, its language, history, findings, and applications
  • Students will demonstrate knowledge of scientific principles related to health sciences.

Livestock Management Technical Specialty

  • Students will demonstrate effective application of agricultural knowledge and resources to solve problems and perform relevant activities.
  • Students will demonstrate effective communication appropriate to the discipline.
  • Students will demonstrate knowledge of agricultural industries including structure, production practices, and management principles.
  • Students will demonstrate knowledge of scientific principles related to agriculture.
