Spanish Minor

All Spanish majors and minors have the following core courses which must be satisfied: SPAN 1010 , SPAN 1020 , SPAN 2010 , SPAN 2020 .

Spanish Minor (15 Credits)

15 hours beyond 2020 selected under consultation with the advisor.

Core Required

Spanish Electives (3 Credits)

plus 3 additional credits which may include any course at or beyond the 3000 level 3 credits

Total Credits: 15

Note

Teacher Candidates are also required to take SPAN 4900 - Methods of Teaching Foreign Language .

Students may only count one course in which English is the language of instruction toward the Spanish minor (e.g. LANG 3030 , SPAN 3250 , SPAN 4900 )

Any internship (SPAN 4893 ), study abroad (SPAN 4920 ), and student teaching (SPAN 4980 )credit counts as an elective. Other than transfer credit, internship and study abroad credits should not exceed 3 credits per denomination. SPAN 4980 should not exceed 2 credits. Total credits toward a Spanish Minor or with a SPAN 4893 , SPAN 4920 , and SPAN 4980 denomination must not exceed a maximum of 3 credits.
