Computer Science Composite - Forensic Science Emphasis, B.S.

Recommended for computer science students with an interest in criminal justice and the applied field of computer forensics. This is a SUU composite degree (a minor is not required).

General Education (36 credits)

  • Core Course Requirements (must take MATH 1210 ) 17 credits
  • Knowledge Areas Requirements (must take CJ 1010  and CSIS 1010 ) and approved courses in the Physical and Life Sciences 16 credits

Program Prerequisite (7 Credits)


MATH 1050  and MATH 1060  (prerequisite for MATH 1210 ) 7 credits

CS Forensic Electives (6 Credits)


  • 6 Credit hours of electives in CSIS or Forensic related classes in the college of Science or the Department of Criminal Justice. The COSE advisor must approve course. These electives will need to be upper division to satisfy the required 40 hours of upper division work 6 credits.

Total Credits, B.S. degree: 129


Note


The CSIS Department accepts transfer credits up to 10 years, due to the rapid change of the industry.  Anything beyond this will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
