Construction Cost Estimates (AAS)

Program Information

  • All courses must be passed with a C- (1.7) or better to be counted in the major.
  • Students must earn a minimum overall GPA of 2.0 in the major requirements.
  • This course will prepare graduates to earn the Certified Professional Estimator certification from The American Society of Professional Estimators.
  • This program requires the completion of MATH 1050 - College Algebra  and MATH 1060 - Trigonometry . Students who are not prepared for these math courses may need additional math credits/preparation, which may affect time to graduation. Please consult your Student Success Advisor for more information.

Associate of Applied Science General Education Requirement (9+ Credits)


For an Associate of Applied Science degree, 9+ credit hours are required in the following areas:

  • One course in the Written Communication (English) Core (3+ Credits)
  • One course from either the Arts or Humanities Breadth Area (3+ Credits)
  • One course from either the Life Sciences or Physical Sciences Breadth Areas (3+ Credits)

Free Electives and University Requirements (Associate)


Students’ total free elective credit is determined by their General Education courses taken, degree type selected (if applicable), additional credits earned, and any additional math or other prerequisite courses needed. Some students and/or programs may not have any free electives.

For an associate’s degree, students must earn

  • A minimum of 60 total credits;
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 in both SUU coursework and combined transfer/SUU coursework; and
  • 24 credits completed  through SUU.
