Behavioral Health Technician (Certificate)

Program Summary

The Behavioral Health Technician program is designed to provide entry-level training to individuals wanting to work in the general field of mental health and social work. It provides basic courses that train individuals in the practice and related ethics of the helping profession. The certificate is intended to demonstrate these types of basic competencies to employers. Students also considering exploring an undergraduate degree in psychology, social work, and other related fields could complete the BHT as part of their career-exploration process as it allows them to obtain stackable credentials in the field with a shorter time commitment.

Program Information

  • All courses must be passed with a “C-” (1.7) or better to be counted in the certificate.

Certificate Completion

This certificate program may be completed independently and does not require enrollment in or completion of any degree program to be awarded.

PSY 1010 will be waived for students in this program who complete both PRDV 5000 - Introduction to Behavioral Health Careers and PRDV 5000 Personal Preparation for a Behavioral Health Career prior to enrolling in PSY 2300.
