Program Summary

An emphasis is also placed in the development of cultural fluency. Courses are open to all students, from beginners to intermediate and advanced learners.
Students of German at SUU benefit from a close-knit intellectual community whose bedrock is award-winning language instruction and mentoring. With instructor guidance, German minors are encouraged to develop independent projects which build meaningful, transferable skills, such as translation. Students are advised to take advantage of study abroad programs in Germany and Austria, as well as post-graduate, career-advancing opportunities such as the German Academic Exchange Program and the Fulbright Program.
