BIOL 4500 - Capstone: Biology of Disease3 credits
The goal of this course is to provide inquisitive, self-directed students with an appreciation of the complexity of biological systems. The emphasis is top-down, beginning with a condition, moving toward explication of the underlying biochemical, cell biological and molecular biological mechanisms. Topics will be integrated with other courses, such as genetics, evolution, ecology, economics, etc. A minimum grade of “C” (2.0 or above) must be earned in this course before it can be counted in a biological science major or minor or as a prerequisite for any other biology courses. (Fall Even Years)
Prerequisite: BIOL 3310 /BIOL 3315 and satisfactory completion of ETS Major Field Exam. Co-Requisite: BIOL 4505
