CE 4200 - Advanced Geotechnical Engineering Design 3 Credit(s) | $46.50 Fee
This course provides advanced analysis and design of geotechnical systems with an emphasis on professional practice, constructability, and performance-based design. Topics include geotechnical site characterization and parameter selection, groundwater and seepage with flow-net and numerical approaches, shallow and mat foundations (bearing, settlement, and serviceability), deep foundations (axial and lateral capacity, group effects, and load testing), earth-retaining systems (sheet piles, braced excavations, mechanically stabilized earth, and soil nailing), slope stability and stabilization, and ground improvement and geosynthetics.
