MFT 6400 - Treating Addiction a Systemic Model in MFT 3 Credit(s) | $7.50 Fee
This course examines systemic approaches to treating substance use and addictive disorders within marriage and family therapy. Students will learn to integrate evidence-based and best-practice models with a focus on individual, relational, and community dynamics that shape addiction and recovery. Special emphasis is placed on the unique challenges of rural treatment contexts, including access, stigma, and resource limitations. Through case studies, applied practice, and current research, students will develop the skills to support recovery and strengthen family systems impacted by addiction.
