EDUC 5706 - Classroom Practice in Science 3 Credit(s) | See Department Fee
In this course, designed for K-6 teachers, participants explore best practices in the elementary science classroom. Participants use the science and engineering practices, crosscutting concepts, and disciplinary core ideas to support student sensemaking. Additionally, participants prepare and enact phenomena-based, three-dimensional science instruction that supports the development of students’ conceptual science understanding and scientific literacy. Participants also consider ways to promote effective and equitable science instruction both in personal practice and in the science education community. This course is intended to be a sequential element in this endorsement. (As Needed) [Graded (Standard Letter)]
