PSY 6270 - Motivation and Emotion

This seminar course contains content to develop your understanding of psychology from a scientific way of knowing and to inform you of theories of motivation, emotion, and affect. The curriculum of this course is designed to enhance your abilities to be effective in a clinical setting. Throughout this course, principles of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusivity are discussed in directed reading and formal seminar discussion. Further, content from this course connects with content from PSY 6400: Advanced Social Psychology, PSY 6700: Statistics and Research Design, and PSY 6450: Psychopathology. Finally, this course provides foundational material for PSY 6520: Clinical Practicum, PSY 6530: Field Practicum, PSY 6810: Addictions Treatment, and PSY 7990: Pre-Doctoral Internship.
