PILT 1740 - Aviation Safety and Security

This course provides a survey of risk and systems and protocols designed to mitigate threats to the safety and security of aviation operations. Case studies of accidents and incidents are utilized to illuminate factors contributing to the cases. The validity and effectiveness of aviation safety programs and safety management systems are examined. Best practices for aviation safety and security are explored. Students learn practical knowledge sufficient to analyze the safety and security condition of an aviation operation and make appropriate recommendations to enhance the safety and security of that operation.
